Everything You Need to Know About Microblading

Step aside, brow pencils! A new eyebrow trend has recently taken the beauty industry by storm, and its name is… microblading. The mystical service is in high demand across the world, so here’s the run-down of one of the most popular permanent makeup services we offer at Millennium.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup process that originated in Asia. Elle Magazine describes it as “eyebrow architecture.” Microblading is a very precise process in which the provider essentially tattoos the eyebrow onto the epidermis of the skin. The tool is similar to a pen with a sloped blade as the nib, with 10-12 tiny needles at the end.

These microneedles imprint fine, featherweight strokes of pigment onto the epidermis. While they don’t actually penetrate the skin (thus the difference between tattoo eyebrows and microblading), they do make small scratches on the outermost layer.

What are the benefits of microblading?

  1. Spend less time getting ready. With semi-permanently perfect eyebrows, you will be able to cut a significant chunk out of your makeup routine!
  2. Compatibility with all lifestyles. Microblading is long-lasting (typically 1-3 years), water and smudge resistant.
  3. Little maintenance needed. As previously mentioned, microbladed eyebrows will last typically from 1-3 years. In that period, very minor maintenance is needed to keep those perfect brows up to standard
  4. Easy solution to eyebrow loss/patchiness. Microblading is an ideal solution for those who have lost significant amounts of eyebrow due to illness, age or certain treatments. The process is a quick and easy way to regain natural looking, full eyebrows to frame and define your face!
